Childhood Hunger Programs Manager

Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida, Orlando, Florida

Providing nutrition for needy children by coordinating three programs: Kids Cafes, Hi-Five Kid’s Pack and Summer Feeding. Collaborating with local staff as well as with Feeding America’s development team in Chicago. Acting liaison between the food bank and Central Florida’s Hispanic community, crafting media releases, writing grant proposals, and designing donor-targeted, fundraising materials.

Editorial Assistant / Administrative Assistant

Casiano Communications, San Juan, Puerto Rico

Streamlining production of editorial copy for a major newspaper. Proofreading and generation of full-page electronic layouts for final transmission to printing facilities in Miami. All aspects of this job were deadline and team oriented.

As Administrative Assistant I was involved in all aspects of the publishing business, including

marketing, production, editorial, circulation and Management Information Systems. I was also part of

the team that helped launch Imagen Magazine – working closely with Marisol Malaret; the first

Puerto Rican to win the Miss Universe pageant in 1976.
